Helping Hands Hustle 5k

A family friendly 5K to benefit the Christian Action Guild, The Golden Backpack Program and the Golden Rescue efforts to help the needy of Golden. The race begins and ends near St. Joseph Catholic Church in Golden.

7:00-8:00am – Registration / Check-in

Registration packet pick up and race day registrations. (Cash or check only)

8:30am – 5k Race

Strollers and dogs on leash are allowed but will start at the back of the pack of runners.

10:00am – 0.5 Mile Fun Run

For children 10 years old and under, family members can run with their children. Strollers and dogs are welcome, but it will be run on grass. This is free, no T-Shirt will be provided for the fun run.

10:30am – Awards and Prizes

Awards and prizes will be handed out

Our Cause

The race benefits many different groups in our community.
Christian Action Guild

Since 1966, the Christian Action Guild Inc has served the Golden community by meeting the needs of Golden families over 400 each month) in crisis when resources are available. The Guild operates a food bank that supplies supplemental food to familes on various assistance programs, senior citizens on limited budgets, CSM students and other referred familes as required.

Golden Rescue Fund

The Golden Rescue Fund operates through the Calvary Episcopal Church, as does the Golden Chapter of the Salvation Army. The Fund helps those in crisis situations by providing emergency housing for women, and families as well as food, gas and prescription vouchers for those demonstrating need.

Golden Backpack Program

The Golden Backpack Program helps feed students in need by providing a backpack full of enough food to feed a child for an entire weekend. Currently, the GBP provides assistance to over 600 students in local schools, including Mitchell Elementary, Shelton Elementary, Pleasant View Elementary, Welchester Elementary, Kyffin Elementary, Connections Learning Center, Bell Middle School, and Golden High School.
